Steven Thomas Devaux, Jr., lovingly referred to by his friends and family as Steve, was born on April 19, 1974, in Hartford, CT, and passed away on July 7, 2023, in Palm Harbor, FL. A loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, Steve was cherished by his family and respected by his colleagues and friends.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Miguel Devaux, and their adored sons, Dax Miguel Devaux and Vann Kingsley Devaux. He was a pillar of strength and love for his family, always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His mother, Eva Kingsley, his adoptive father, Brian Kingsley, his sister and her partner, Jennifer Foster and Christopher Amendola, and his niece and nephew, Ashley and Thomas Foster, remember him as a loving and supportive family member. His mother-in-law, Tatiana Miguel, his grandfather-in-law, Jorge Cabrera, along with his father-in-law and his wife, Rodolfo and Elvy Miguel, also held a special place in his heart. Steve was predeceased by his father, Steven Thomas Devaux.
Steve served in the Army National Guard for a decade, a period of his life he looked back on with pride and fondness. His dedication to his country was paralleled by his commitment to his work. For 18 years, Steve was a dedicated employee of the Pinellas County Housing Authority, where he most recently served as Project Manager. His colleagues remember him as a hard worker, who always brought a positive attitude and a can-do spirit to the workplace.
Outside of work, he loved spending quality time with Melissa, Dax, and Vann, and their loyal dog, Tito. Steve was a man who was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was for his job, his family, or one of his many friends. His kindness and willingness to help others were among his most admirable qualities.
Steve's life was marked by service to his country, dedication to his work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His loss will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. However, his memory will live on in the hearts and lives of those he left behind, a testament to a life well-lived. Steve Devaux, Jr., your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
