On the ninth day of the ninth month, year 2025, Steven John Donough took his last breath at home on his farm in Juniata County.

Born June 1, 1957 to the late Paul and Mae (Mase) Donough of Lancaster County, he had just begun his 68th year of life. During those 68 years of life his body endured the effects of the condition called Scleroderma. His life stopped June 5, 2025, but came back to life to give "one more day" to all before his body could no longer continue on earth.

Steve's life evolved around farming. He purchased his farm in 1978 and was a devoted steward to Gods land all his life. His commitment and caring nature gave life to hundreds of animals.

Steve's greatest love was shared with his wife, Lucinda (Wilson) Donough. Their love for each began at first meeting while both were participating in 4-H and FFA judging contests at Penn State. Though young in age, the deepest bond of love continued until his last breath. This love will continue forever.

Steve was always the one "left behind" to finish the farm chores while his sons represented his honor in community events. Averin Steven (Cheri), Comanche, TX, Damein LevenPaul (significant other, Meranda Yohn), Honey Grove and Clancein Shea (Tori), Port Royal. His pride was shown through all his grandchildren. Steve's kind soul made knowing interacting with him an honor and privilege. His strong work ethics were always demonstrated by his willingness to help anyone. To know him was a blessing. "Farming is not just a job-it's a way of life. When a farmer retires or dies, it means a special kind of upheaval in that way of life." These are feelings only felt by fellow farmers. Earth lost a wonderful man, soulmate and dedicated farmer, but heaven gained a great one!

Please join the family at Lost Creek Mennonite Church, 2682 Long Road, Mifflintown, for a viewing beginning at 10 AM until a prayer service at 1 PM on what would have been his 48th wedding anniversary, Wednesday, September 17th. to his now heartbroken, loving wife, Lucinda. Further services will continue at 2:30 PM at Steve's farm on Mountain Road, Port Royal. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Should friends desire, flowers may be omitted and donations given to the family for future educational purposes. Casual dress is requested.
