It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Lee Emerick, age 73, who died Friday, August 29, 2025, at McLaren Hospital in Bay City, Michigan. Born in Harbor Beach, Michigan, Steve was the beloved son of Stanley Roosevelt and Helen Elisabeth (Fealko) Emerick. He made his home in Port Hope, Michigan, living in his family residence that he eventually purchased from his parents in 1973, keeping it in the family for 88 years. Steve spent the first part of his career at Paper Roll and then moved to working for US Manufacturing in Bad Axe, where he served as a supervisor for 15+ years. Upon retiring in 2002, he followed his passion for owning small businesses which led him to opening the "The Mine" a traveling rock and mining attraction which was enjoyed by many at festivals and parties, throughout Huron County and beyond. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, as well as deer hunting and fishing. His legacy lives on through his loving family: his son Kevin Emerick and daughter-in-law Nicole of White Lake and their children Holden (15) and Violet (12); his daughter Andrea Walker and son-in-law Chris of Holly Springs, NC, and their daughter Addison (15); and his daughter Elisa Dutko of Big Rapids, Michigan, with her children Charley Willis and Eli Dutko, and great-grandchildren Aurelius (1) and Astraea (6). Steve is also survived by his siblings: brothers Ray Emerick (Sue), Jack Emerick (Pat), and sisters Loretta Ahler (Jim) and Jane (Jerry) Wilson. He joins his parents Stanley & Helen Emerick and sister Kay Franzel in eternal rest. Memorial Service Tuesday, September 2, 2025 3:00 PM - 7:30 PM Ramsey Funeral Home Harbor Beach, Michigan. A reception will follow at Ricky J's, where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Steve. Memories can be shared at www.RamseyFH.com
