Steven "Steve" Ferguson

Steven "Steve" Ferguson, 57, of Dale City passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer on March 30, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children.
Steve was born January 28, 1965 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Howard Nathaniel and Lillie Bruce (Dupree) Ferguson.
Steve grew up on Hideaway Drive off Rt. 234 outside of Montclair before it expanded to the major route it is today. He graduated in 1983 as part of the first graduating class from Potomac High School in Dumfries. He was employed by InfinityQS International for the last 22 years as a software engineer consultant. As his children grew, he coached them in various sports including basketball. Steve was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, Washington Wizards, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, UNC basketball, Gar-Field High School athletics, and Michael Jordan. He enjoyed attending football and baseball games with Michele, Shepherd University football tailgates with Michele and the Shepherd crew, grilling, and spending time with his family. Steve loved playing rounds of golf with his close group of golf buddies. He and Michele especially loved attending their children's and now their grandchildren's athletic events.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by five brothers, Melvin Ferguson, Alvin Ferguson, Donald Ferguson, William Ferguson, and Mickey Dupree; and his sister, Mary Bailey.
In addition to his loving wife of 28 years, Michele Ferguson, he is survived by his children, Steven Ferguson II (Graciela Sierra), Danielle Ferguson, Nathaniel Ferguson, Lindsey Ferguson, Dave Bailey, and Tremayne Bailey; twin granddaughters, Mila Ferguson and Makayla Ferguson; a grandson, Jordan Bailey; two brothers, Howard Ferguson Jr., and Samuel Ferguson; and numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, Virginia 22193. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will host a cookout to celebrate Steve's life on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Veteran's Memorial Park, Tent 1, 14300 Veterans Drive, Woodbridge, Virginia 22191 beginning at noon. Burgers and hotdogs will be provided. Please bring your own beverages and a dish to share.
