Patricia "Pat" Mary Hall, 79, of Montclair, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born August 7, 1946, in
Brooklyn, New York, Pat was the second youngest of seven children to William and Margaret Farrell. She grew up spirited and strong, overcoming early hardships with resilience and determination. After losing her mother at age three, Pat began first grade at just four years old and graduated from Saint Vincent Ferrer High School at 16.
At 18, Pat married Joseph Glitzner and soon welcomed three daughters-Cheryl, Stacey, and Lisa. In 1974, she encouraged Joe to seek help through a Twelve Step program, demonstrating her strength and devotion to family during challenging times. While raising three young children, Pat began working as a key punch operator from home and later embarked on a distinguished 33-year career with the federal government. She served as a budget analyst for GSA before transferring to the Department of Defense in 1981, where she worked for the U.S. Navy on the Frigate (FFG-7) program and later the Aegis Weapons Systems program until retiring in 2003. Pat continued supporting the Navy as a federal contractor until her final retirement in 2008.
In 1988, Pat married Charles "Chuck" Hall, blending their families and creating a loving home with five children. Pat and Chuck shared 26 wonderful years together until his passing in 2014.
Pat was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life. She loved hosting parties, throwing unforgettable birthday celebrations, and making everyone feel special. A kid at heart, Pat filled her home with laughter, music, and fun-whether dancing on kitchen counters, staging water fights indoors, or singing loudly to her favorite songs. She enjoyed amusement parks, concerts, beach trips, and visits to New York to see family.
Pat was a pillar of her community, volunteering for multiple organizations. In her neighborhood Property Owners Association, she served on the Island Board of Directors in three of four Executive Officer positions: Vice President (2004), Treasurer (2009–2011), and President (2011–2015). In each role, Pat demonstrated commitment and leadership, guiding the community through periods of progress and change. She welcomed new neighbors, mediated disputes, mentored volunteers, and fostered strong social bonds by hosting weekly coffees and holiday open houses.
Beyond her neighborhood, Pat was a trained Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). Her duties entailed advocating for the best interests of at-risk, abused and neglected children. In her role as an advocate, Pat conducted home visits, independently gathered information and made recommendations to social workers, attorneys and judges. Pat served as an advocate from 2004 to 2014, helping over 30 court involved youth. She also played an instrumental role in planning CASA's annual fundraising events. In 2018, Pat graduated from the Prince William County Citizen Police Academy. After the academy graduation, she joined and was actively involved in the Prince William County Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association which hosted events including, but not limited, to the annual Fallen Officer Tribute and the Prince William County Police Officer's Holiday Boxing Event. Pat also served as a Secretary for the Alumni Association for many years.
Generous and compassionate, Pat opened her home to friends and strangers alike, offering support without judgment. A trusted listener and loyal friend, she was the person you could count on for a comforting word, a helping hand, or a shoulder to cry on.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Chuck; brothers Billy, Bert, Patrick, sister Dorothy and sister-in-law Barbara. She leaves behind her children Cheryl (Steve) Clausson, Stacey Burba, Lisa (Pat) Sivigny, Matthew "Scott" (Amanda) Hall, and David Hall; siblings Eddie (Barbara) Farrell and Margaret "Peggy" (Wayne) Knight; grandchildren Ashleigh, Zachary, Cassie, Spencer, Sean, Dustin, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Austin, Tristen, Ainsley, Jordan, Annamae, and Everly; great-grandchildren Gavin, Evie, and Ethan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
