Steven Gadarian

It is with immeasurable love and deep sorrow that we share the passing of Steven Gadarian - a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who lived a life grounded in kindness with his family always at the center of his every thought.
Born on April 10, 1946, and raised in New Haven, Connecticut, Steven was a graduate of New Haven High School. Upon graduation, Steven attended New Haven University and also served in the US Navy Reserves at the Boston Navy Yard, Petty Officer 2nd Class.
Steven married his beloved wife of 57 years, Barbara Gail, and the two moved to Florida where Steven began what would be a 30-year career with New York Life Insurance Company. In 1980, Barbara and Steven moved to Middletown, New Jersey where they raised their two children, Heather and Michael.
Steven was devoted to his family, provided a source of security and comfort, advice and unconditional love. Steven was adored by his five grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Jonah, Ethan and Ella. Steven was an incredible father, always teaching and instilling in his children Heather and Michael that they could do anything they set their minds to.
Steven and Barbara moved to Four Seasons Manasquan, New Jersey in 2016 where they enjoyed time by the water, with family and friends. Steve's happiest place was by the ocean, a sailor for decades, where his adventurous spirit shined. Steven passed peacefully after bravely fighting his illness with quiet courage, never complaining, always concerned first for his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl, and his mother, Lillian and brother Alan. He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Gadarian, whom he loved deeply and admired for her strength and deep compassion; his beloved and accomplished children: daughter, Heather Oehlmann (son in law Michael and granddaughters Abigail and Emily of Brielle) and son, Michael Gadarian, of Jamesville, New York (daughter in law Shana, grandsons Jonah and Ethan and granddaughter Ella).
Becoming a grandpa was one of the greatest joys of his life. Steven is also survived by his loving extended family and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday November 7, 2025, from 10:00 am to Noon at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan, New Jersey
to honor his life and legacy. Burial immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery, 707 Schoolhouse Road, Brielle, New Jersey.

Steven will be remembered always for his kindness, his boundless love for family, strength and courage.
