Steven Robert Geist, 64, of Fleetwood, PA, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 while at work. Born in Reading, Steve was a son of the late Robert M. and Mary L. (Weidner) Geist. He was a 1979 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and a 1983 graduate of Kutztown University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science with a minor in geography.
Steve was employed as a Supervisor for Urban Engineers, Inc., Allentown for 10 years. Prior that, Steve worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Steve was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown, and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf, watching soccer, baseball, pickleball and playing poker. He was a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan. Steve was a beloved brother, uncle, cherished friend, and an inspiring spirit to all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his sister, Manette L. (Geist), wife of D. Keith Boyer, Hamburg; brother, David W., husband of Catherine (Callahan) Geist, Annville; four nieces, Danette (Boyer) Seidel, Hamburg, Laura K. Boyer, Fleetwood, Katelyn L. Boyer, Hamburg, and Major Brett M. (Boyer) Rocha, U.S. Army, Elgin, SC; and his great nieces and nephews, Cora, Lucy and Owen Seidel, Ava Boyer, Taynara and Sofia Rocha, and Blake Boyer.
A memorial service to celebrate and honor Steve's life will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Debra Timmins officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
