Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dahl Funeral Home - East Grand Forks on Jan. 17, 2025.
Steven Gerszewski, of East Grand Forks Minnesota, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025.
Steven was born in Fork Township in Marshall County, Minnesota on August 28th, 1935 to parents, Alexander & Stella Gerszewski. He grew up on the family farm near Argyle, Minnesota. Steven attended country school and continued to live and work on the farm with his parents. He would work at Crystal Sugar in the winter months, and also worked at American Woods and Marvin Windows for a couple years, but continued farming until he sold the farm house and moved to East Grand Forks. Steven was a member of Alma Catholic Church in Argyle and became a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church when he moved to East Grand Forks. He was also involved in the Knights of Columbus.
Steven enjoyed being outside in general, and he proudly maintained his lawn. He was a handyman who enjoyed working in his shop and working on the house. He liked to go to the VFW on a Sunday to dance and socialize. Most of all, Steven loved to visit with people and spend time with family & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex & Stella Gerszewski; 8 brothers, John Alexander, Leo, Raymond (Selma), Joseph (Margaret C.), Peter (Frances), Chester (Mary), William (Margaret M.), and Thomas (Christine); 4 sisters, Eleanor (Edward) Smith, Maggie (John) Kostrzewski, Gertrude Biggs, and Frances (Joe) Kazmierczak; and brothers-in-law, Cyril Seeba, Robert Lechner, and Alfred Sevigny.
Steven is survived by his sisters, Loretta Lechner and Anna Seeba; brother-in-law, Paul Biggs; and many nieces & nephews.
VISITATION is 5:00PM-6:30PM, with a PRAYER SERVICE at 6:30PM, on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 3rd Street NW, East Grand Forks.
VISITATION will continue on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 10:30AM, until the MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 11:30AM, all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
