It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven John Hall, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and member of the Des Moines community. He left us peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 72.
A Celebration of Steven's Life will be held at Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa.
Steve was born November 8, 1952, in Sibley, Iowa to Robert and Marilyn (Wick). He grew up in Sibley, later moving to Des Moines, and graduated from Hoover High School. Steve attended trade school in Omaha where he studied refrigeration and HVAC repair and owned his own business for a number of years.
Steve was known for his love of motorcycles, specifically Harley Davidsons, and Ford Mustangs. He was devoted to his family and the substance recovery community. Steve was a loyal AA member and attended meetings religiously. He was truly an example of how the AA program can work, as he lived in sobriety for many years.
Steven will be deeply missed by his sister Laura Morrison, Minneapolis, MN; children, Jason Hall, Ankeny, IA, Rebecca (Jeff Promo) Hall, Ankeny, IA, Daniel (Heidi) Hall, Granger, IA and Bradley (Malorie) Hall, Johnston, IA; grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Garrett, Elizabeth, Emery and Holden Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marilyn Hall and brother, Gregory Hall.
