With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Owen Headley, a beloved father and grandfather, on April 6, 2025, at the age of 64.
He was born in Bowling Green, Ohio, on July 27, 1960 to the late Elwood Julius Headley and Carol Sue Headley. He went to Eastwood High School and attended The Ohio State University, where he played baseball and received two degrees.
Steve moved to Houston, Texas where he was in the trucking industry most of his life and enjoyed the many people he met along the way. He was known for unwavering commitment to the road, covering countless miles and enjoyed the freedom of the open road. He enjoyed his Harley’s and anything with loud exhaust, along with watching and talking sports with his brother and son. Steve was a tough, stern man but if you knew him personally and he considered you a friend he would give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his only son, Clint (Andrea) Headley of Katy, Texas; two granddaughters Cheyenne and Makensi Headley; Sister Elizabeth (Larry) Downey of Pemberville, Ohio; Brother Thomas (Audra) Headley of Pemberville, and nieces and nephews in Ohio; and Partner Helen Gonzalez of Katy, Texas.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Steve on May 17, 2025 at 2 Pm at
The Wellhead Sports Bar: 1315 W Grand Parkway S suite 101, Katy, Tx 77494
Steve enjoyed watching sports and catching up with friends at his local watering hole so it’s only fitting we celebrate him this way.
The family requests those attending to wear Sports, Harley, or Ohio State gear.
