He was born in Duluth, MN on January 22, 1953 to loving parents, Howard and Marjorie (Kymala) Kuehn. Growing up, Steve enjoyed running cross country, biking, basketball, and of course, hunting and fishing. At 17, he completed the Lake Superior circle tour by bike in 17 days. After graduating from Duluth Central in 1971, Steve joined the Air Force, enjoying a distinguished 24 year career in Security Police and as a Special Ops First Sergeant, which took him all over the world and included numerous recognitions and commendations, most notably multiple First Sergeant of the year awards. From Kansas, Washington, and Montana, to the Philippines, Okinawa, Korea, and Australia, Steve made life-long friends and deep connections everywhere he went. Steve earned his degree in education, became a teacher, and worked for Delta after retiring as a MSgt. Steve was kind, intelligent, and charismatic. He was an excellent marksman and tracker. He loved adventure, sports, his yellow labs, and of course his grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the values and teachings he endowed.
