Steven (Steve) Gerard Luebbert, age 70, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1955, and spent his life surrounded by many different friendships, and love. Steve was not perfect but was loved by many.
Steve graduated from Hazelwood High School in Florissant, Missouri, in 1973. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division from November 1973 to November 1976. He was a grateful veteran and carried immense pride in his service throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa (Terri) Luebbert of the home; children: Douglas (Doug) and wife Deanne, and Richard (Rick) and wife Alessandra; and his bonus children: Marita, Rochelle and husband Tony, Chris and wife Robyn, and Paul.
He was a proud grandfather to Lyla, Lainey, and Sophia, and a loving bonus grandfather to Makayla, Justin, Domonic, Austin, Sage, Jasper, Pax, Brandon, Justin, Connor, Zachariah, Christopher, Alex, and Jeremih, all of whom brought great joy to his life and home.
Steve is also survived by his brother, Edward and wife Tracy Luebbert; and his sisters: Janet and husband Bruce Thacker, Judy and husband Randy Borth, Mary Ellen, and Nancy Bernhardt and husband John Jepsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Margaret Luebbert; brothers: Jim and Russ Luebbert; his bonus daughter, Cortney Cotter; and his bonus son-in-love, Douglas Dale.
Steve was an avid fisherman who loved living close to the water. He also loved his dogs: Tank and Diva, who were his constant companions. About a year ago, he began raising homing pigeons, finding a new passion and joy in caring for them. A true sports fan, Steve, never missed a Kansas City Chiefs game and enjoyed following many other sports as well.
He was truly loved and will be missed very much by all who knew him. Steve will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his unwavering devotion to nearly all of his family. His life was a testament to love, loyalty, service, and the joy found in simple moments spent with those he cared for most.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
