Steven Luebbert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremations of the Ozarks - Hollister on Nov. 14, 2025.
Steven "Steve" Gerard Luebbert, age 70, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025. He spent his last days surrounded by loved ones. Steve was born May 13,1955, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Steve graduated from Hazelwood High School in Florissant, Missouri, in 1973. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division from November 1973 to November 1976. He was a grateful veteran and carried immense pride in his service throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Theresa (Terri) Luebbert; his children: Douglas (Deanne) Luebbert and Richard (Alessandra) Luebbert; and his step-children: Marita Dale, Rochelle (Tony) Franco, Chris (Robyn) Vanover, and Paul Cotter and his grandchildren, Lyla, Lainey, Sophia, Makayla, Justin, Domonic, Austin, Sage, Jasper, Pax, Brandon, Connor, Zachariah, Christopher, Alex, and Jeremih.
Steve is also survived by his siblings: Janet (Bruce) Thalacker, Judy (Randy) Borth, Edward (Tracy Smith) Luebbert, Mary Ellen Nicolay, and Nancy (John Jepsen) Bernhardt; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Luebbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Margaret Luebbert; brothers: James Luebbert and Russell Luebbert; his stepdaughter, Cortney Cotter; and step-son-in-love, Douglas Dale.
Steve was an avid fisherman who loved living close to the water. He also loved his dogs: Tank and Diva, who were constant companions. He raised homing pigeons, caring for them with passion and joy. A true sports fan, Steve, never missed a Kansas City Chiefs game and enjoyed following many other sports as well.
Steve was truly loved and will be missed very much. His life was a testament to loyalty and service, and the joy found in simple moments spent with his loved ones.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
