Steven MacPhail Obituary
Mr. Steven C. MacPhail, 56, of Canajoharie, NY died at Albany Medical Center on September 29, 2023, following a lifelong battle with Williams Syndrome.
Steven was born on May 15, 1967, the son of the late Archibald E. MacPhail and Lila M Kane MacPhail who survives. He was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1986.
He lived his entire life in the local area, and for the past 30 plus years he had been employed by Liberty of Amsterdam. He attended the Ames Methodist Church. Also he had enjoyed being the manager and ball boy for the Canajoharie ``Redskins". Steven was a huge sports fan, and enjoyed watching and supporting any sport that involved a New York team. He had also been involved in playing many sports through the Special Olympics.
Survivors include his mother Lila MacPhail; brothers Gary and his wife Patricia MacPhail, Mark and his wife Theresa MacPhail, Paul and his wife Maria MacPhail, James and his wife Jennifer MacPhail; his kitty Lucky and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 11:00am-1:00pm on Tuesday October 3, 2023, at Houghtaling and Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 20 Otsego Street Canajoharie, NY 13317. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 1:00PM. Burial will take place at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
The family asks that donations are directed to either the Ayers Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166 or the Ames Fire Dept., 595 Latimer Hill Road, Ames, NY 13317.
