Steven Maronie, age 65, of Trinity passed away December 23, 2022 in Lexington, NC with his family by his side.
For those that were lucky enough to be loved by him know that he loved you with everything he had. He always gave the best advise but also knew when you just needed a listening ear. He would put you in your place if needed but on the other hand he would be ready to throw down and have your back in a heartbeat. Those that were close to him know how sensitive he was under that hard exterior shell. He absolutely hated being alone although he'd never admit to it. He was full of life and had a positive outlook on life. He was forever cracking jokes and making everyone laugh. He would always say that age was just a number and that he never wanted to "grow up" because that would be boring. His laughter was contagious, and I hope I never forget that sound. He was bold and blunt and had a hard exterior but underneath that was a big teddy bear. We will miss his bear hugs, Monkey bites, bee bites, the hurts donuts, his laugh, his jokes, his positive outlook, his advice, our long conversations about everything and nothing...We will miss everything. Our family will spend forever missing our dad. Steven enjoyed Spending time with family and friends, working on his vehicles, woodworking, listening to "good tunes", camping, playing cards and spending time with his beloved dog, Echo
Steven was born in Athol and later graduated from Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in 1975. Steven enjoyed working on cars, was a lifelong carpenter and later an entrepreneur. He loved his kids and grandkids more than anything and told us this any chance he had.
His wishes were to have a celebration of life with great music, wonderful friends and shared memories. A service will be announced at a later date and his ashes will be scattered in Cape Cod and Florida as well.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Crystal King and husband A.J. of Edgewater, FL, Timmy Gordon and wife Future of Fitchburg, MA, Amy Hayes of Orange, MA; grandchildren, Kayla King, Natalie King, Tyler King, Hunter Cruz, Tanya Gordon, Corey Gordon, Mason Gordon and Samantha; brother, Terry Maronie; sister, Karen Maronie; and numerous other beloved family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Ramsdell; and brother Tom Maronie.
