Mr. Steven Lance "Steve" Marshall passed away on May 4, 2025, in Harriman, Tennessee, at the age of 63. Born on January 20, 1962, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee & a graduate of Oakdale High School. Steve spent his life in the state he loved, building a life centered around family and simple pleasures.


He found joy in the roar of NASCAR engines, peaceful days spent fishing, time at family property in Oakdale & the lake. He had a passion for football, but spending time with his grandsons brought him the most joy & happiness. He created lasting memories for all those around him. He was known as a hard worker. He started working at the age of 14 in the coal mines, followed by Horse Head, and Cook Stone. He had a contagious laugh that won't be forgotten.


Steve was preceded in death by many cherished family members who shaped his life: his Pa-George Edd Marshall; Granny-Lillie Marshall; mother Pauline Marshall; Jim McGill; infant brother Johnny Lee Marshall; uncle Jim Marshall; uncle John Marshall; aunt Edna Mae Crass (Tom)


He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Shelley Marshall; his daughters, Amber Marshall (Clay Tarleton) and Stevey Marshall (Ben Pendleton); He was the best Pa to the boys he never had, his grandsons; Tres, Marshall, Ryker, & Atticus; sister, Regina Dishner (Bill); brothers, Tony and Jimmy McGill; brother & sister in law, Brian Brown (Lavonda), Cassy Givens (Jamie); aunt, Beverly Marshall; cousins, Karen Whalen (Jimmy), Johnny Marshall, Donna Scroggins (Jim), Angela Kreis (Wade), Pam French (Jon), Luke Crass (Melissa) and Sam Crass.

Chosen Family: Frank & Frankie Cook and the entirety of the Cook family. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, & extended family.


His presence brought warmth and strength to those closest to him and he will be deeply missed. May the good memories of Steve bring peace & comfort to all who knew and loved him.



The family will receive friends Saturday May 10, 2025, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Graveside services will follow in Cook Family Cemetery in Oakdale.
