Steven Van Mizak of Boones Mill, VA went home to be with his Lord on April 8, 2024 at the age of 74. He was welcomed by his parents, Andrew Steven Mizak and Claudine Abshire Mizak, his beloved brother Micheal A. Mizak, and his loving father-in-law Jimmie Lester Fisher, along with many others.
Steve graduated from Franklin County High School in Rocky Mount, VA in 1969. He proudly worked for Norfolk and Southern Railroad for 33 years. He took great enjoyment from drag racing, marksmanship, tinkering, nature, and wildlife.
He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Kathryn Fisher Mizak of 54 years. Together, they had two sons Gregory Steven Mizak (Leigh) and Christopher Todd Mizak (Megan). He is also survived by his brother Rickie Mizak and his sister Cecelia “Sissy” Erickson along with many nieces and nephews and their children, and his loving mother-in-law JoAnne H. Fisher.
