With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven Robert Peloquin, M.D., who left us on June 1, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on February 19, 1956, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Steve dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his work in medicine.
Steve shared forty-eight wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Leslie Peloquin. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising four children - Joshua, Jason, Jacob, and Sarah - and welcoming two cherished grandchildren, Ella and Emily.
Steve earned degrees in both architecture and medicine, receiving his M.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1993. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to serving others through his work in healthcare, providing care to the community and to wounded warriors.
Outside of his work, Steve found joy in gardening, architecture, construction projects, and giving back through his volunteer work with Shots for Soldiers. Above all, he found his greatest joy in being present for his children.
Steve's legacy is one of unwavering love, selfless service, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched.
A memorial will be held at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home Thursday, June 12th, with visitation from 6-7:30 pm. The vigil will start at 7:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Manhattan on Friday, June 13th at 10 am. Private burial will be held at a later date.
In place of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Shots for Soldiers. Contributions will directly support the purchase of medical kits used to provide PRP treatments for wounded military service members- a cause close to Steve's heart.
The Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502, is assisting the family with service arrangements. ymlfuneralhome.com
