Steven “Cool Rock” Glenn Pruitt, 46, of Dallas, passed away at home on March 6, 2024. He was born July 28, 1977, in Gaston County, to Debbie Elmore and the late Jerry Glenn Pruitt.
He is preceded in death by grandmother, Bessie Talent Pruitt; grandfather, Leonard Carringer; grandmother, Lalia Carringer; uncle, Jeff Carringer; best friend, Jerry “Big Mac” McAllister.
Steven was dedicated at Sharon Freewill Baptist, and he attended the church throughout his life. He loved to make people laugh and his family enjoyed his contagious laughter. He cherished his family. Steven loved being outdoors, being in the mountains, and loved camping, he also enjoyed being at the beach. He was a great 3-point shooter. He was a huge fan of Duke basketball. Steven loved to work outside in the yard. He always thought of others before himself.
Left to cherish his memories are his long time soul mate, Ruth Nalley; mother, Debbie Elmore and stepfather, Bud Elmore, brothers, his twin, Jerry Nathan Pruitt (Angie), Ben Elmore III (Shannon), William Dickerson; sisters, Jada Noah (Jake), Ella Clark; nieces and nephews, Sean and Alyssa Pruitt, Bentlee and Khaegyn Elmore, and Dylan Noah; special aunt, Ella “Sally” Bridges; special four legged friends, especially “fat boy”, best friends, Danny Thompson, Kenny Owens; and all the kids he loved, Cookie Dickerson, Alex Dickerson, and Aiden Dickerson, Matthew McCracken, Eric Townsend, Victor Clark, Amber Hartgrove; and many other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Sharon Freewill Baptist on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Steven’s Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Odell Cook officiating.
Interment will follow at Sharon Freewill Church Cemetery.
