Steven Reis, Jr.

February 4, 1967 – September 17, 2025

Steven Reis, Jr., age 58, of Dade City, FL, passed away on September 17, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1967, in Fall River, MA, to Judith Ann (Mello) Reis and the late Steven Reis, Sr.

Steven grew up in Massachusetts alongside his brother, Manny, where he developed an early love for sports and dirt bike riding. As a kid, he was especially proud to win a championship while riding an 80cc dirt bike at Southwick. A graduate of Dighton Rehoboth High School, he was a proud member of Local 4 in Boston, Massachusetts, where he spent years running heavy machinery. He carried great pride in his union membership and loved sharing stories of those days.

In 2003, Steven relocated to Florida, where he poured his passion into motorcycles. He built custom bikes for Profile Customs before founding Reis Auto Service. Earlier in life, he was a fixture at Seekonk Speedway, where he earned the nickname "Super Sport" while working on cars and leaving his mark in the racing community.

Steven lived life with energy and joy. His happiest days were spent with "his girl" and the love of his life, Cheryl. Known as a true staple in the Lake Jovita community, he loved hosting gatherings and bringing people together. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and dirt bike (#972), driving his Porsche, attending motocross events, golfing, listening to music, cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ("GO BUCS!"), and never missing a good Taco Tuesday. Above all, he cherished his daughter and grandchildren, proudly supporting them in everything they did. Steven was the life of every gathering-full of stories, laughter, and unforgettable moments. To know him was to never forget him.

Steven is survived by his mother, Judith Reis; his beloved Cheryl Lotto; his daughter, Kelsey Reis Metzmeier, and her husband, Steven Metzmeier, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Kayleigh, Hunter, and Beckett; his brother, Manny Reis, and wife, Kim, of Tennessee; his nephew, Andrew Reis; his niece, Madison Van Reis; great-niece and great-nephew, Zoey and Boston; many loving aunts and uncles; and his loyal French bulldog, Cali May.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Reis, Sr.

Steven will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a vibrant spirit whose presence will be deeply missed but whose impact will live on forever.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US-301, Dade City, FL. Family visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by the service at 4:30 PM. A celebration of life will immediately follow at the Lake Jovita Clubhouse, 12900 Lake Jovita Blvd, Dade City, FL.
