Steven E. Reitmeyer, 60 of St. Charles passed away Saturday June 28, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 22, 1964 in Aurora; son of Hartwig and Elfrieda (Gayer) Reitmeyer. Steve was employed as a Deputy Sheriff with the Kane County Sheriff's Department for over 23 years. He was appointed as the Sheriff Department's very first motorcycle officer. Steve enjoyed playing the drums in an AC/DC tribute band, he enjoyed all kinds of music and the love of motorcycles. Steve loved being a police officer; being there to help anyone in time of need, but he most enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Steve will not only be missed by his family, but everyone that knew him and worked with him will miss him deeply. They will miss his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and always willing to lend a hand. Steve is survived by his life - long partner Pamela Reitmeyer, a son Chad (Lisa) Reitmeyer and a daughter Carrie (Scott) Mongar. 4 grandchildren; Julian, Damien. Zachary, Autumn and 2 sisters; Karen (Mark) Scott and Judy (Rick) Hunt and Special daughter Tiffany Melow-Brown. Steve is preceded in death by his parents. Procession line up for the cars will take place Fri July 11, from 10am to 11am and traveling to Riverside Cemetery for the burial of the urn at 11am.
