Steven Eric Scarborough, Sr., 66, passed away on November 14, 2025, at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington.

Born in Bellingham to James Herbert Scarborough Sr. and Annette Luretta Sanchez, Steven grew up surrounded by a large and deeply connected family. He built his life and reputation through hard work, dedicating his career to carpentry-crafting with his hands, building with care, and leaving behind work that will stand for years to come.

Steven was a man who found peace and joy in life's simplest pleasures. One of his favorite pastimes was taking a drive with no destination in mind-just the open road, his own thoughts, and the freedom to wander. Those who knew him understood that these quiet drives reflected his spirit: steady, thoughtful, and always moving forward in his own way.

Steven is survived by his sons, Jason Pichette and Steven Scarborough Jr.; his granddaughter, Kayshish Pichette-Cline; his siblings James Scarborough Jr., Celeste Jefferson, Kim Scarborough, Frank Solomon, Laurinda Matt, Elaina "Angel" Scarborough, and Gloria Scarborough; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Crystal Rose Pichette; his parents, Annette Sanchez and James Scarborough Sr.; and his siblings Harold Scarborough, Ike Scarborough, Shaneen Gaona, Rhonda Scarborough, Ciara Montoya, and Claurinda Scarborough, his niece Whitney Scarborough.

Steven's life was shaped by resilience, love for his family, and a quiet strength that those close to him will never forget. His family's greatest memories were spent visiting with family and laughing together. His memory will continue on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the unspoken comfort of knowing he is now at peace.

Prayer service will be held on November 18, 2025, with a burial service to follow on November 19, 2025, both at Wex'liem Community Building.
