Steven D. "Steve" Schlangen

Steven D. "Steve" Schlangen Sr., 58, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, March 16th, 2025. He was born December 10th, 1966 in Indianapolis, to his parents Gerald George and Mary Lou (Hunter) Schlangen. He married Amy L. (Butler) Schlangen on September 22nd, 2019.
Steve is survived by his wife, Amy L. (Butler) Schlangen of Mooresville; his two children: Steven Schlangen Jr. and Kellie Schlangen; two brothers: Jerry Schlangen Jr. and David Schlangen; one sister, Cathy Tooley (Chuck); and several nieces and nephews.
Steve is preceded in death by both of his parents.
Steve graduated from Mooresville High School in 1985, and his warm spirit touched the lives of many. He dedicated himself to serving others through Kairos Prison Ministry, Get Real, VIA, Marked Men for Christ, the Walk to Emmaus Community, and Thrive Church in Camby. His deep faith in Christ shaped his life, and he approached each day with a genuine passion for the Lord. He saw his purpose in life to share the love of Jesus to everyone he met. Friends and family remember him as an outgoing, fun-loving person who brought joy and authenticity to every interaction. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, March 22nd at Jones Crossing Banquet Center in Mooresville. A memorial service led by Pastor Ken Dalton will be held at 3 pm following visitation at the banquet center. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
