Steven "Steve" Michael Smith, 69, of Oklahoma City went to his heavenly home on May 18, 2025. He was born at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia to Paul Naaman and Emma Jane (Teel) Smith on December 20, 1955. Steve was active in showing and judging chickens during high school. A fond memory that has been recalled many times was when Steve and his brother, Robert (Bob), colored some chickens blue in their mother's bathtub. Steve always liked to joke and pull pranks on his mother, brother, and sisters. Steve graduated from Noble High School in 1974. Steve went on to work many different skilled jobs throughout his life. Steve also enjoyed fishing with family and friends. Steve had a love for music that spanned his life. Steve could be found on campus corner in Norman during the evenings playing his guitar. Steve could also be found during the early Mornings in front of the diner on Main Street, entertaining passersby with his songs. Steve enjoyed making others smile while he played. Steve is survived by his mother Emma Smith of Norman, sister Linda Smith of Oklahoma City, sister Mary Smith of Norman, brother Robert "Bob" Smith of Wisconsin, and sister Kathee Goldie of Florida. He is also survived by his children, son Brian Weir of Oklahoma City, daughter Jenny Weir and grandson Trevor Dickson of Crescent, son Brandon Weir of Oklahoma, son Scotty Smith of Florida, daughter Candy, and daughter Elizabeth. Steve is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his father Paul Smith, sister Paula Smith, brother Baby Boy Smith, grandmother 'Granny' Ola Beatrice Grizzle Curren, Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Bob Stevens. Steve will be laid to rest at the Independence Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma, during a private family gathering.
