Steven H. Otto, 78, a resident of the Village of Fox Crossing, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1947 to the late Hilary and Rosetta (McAllister) Otto. Steve married Cindy Lotto on May 1, 1971.

Steve went to Gresham High School, and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Oshkosh, as a Registered Nurse in 1969. He worked for numerous health organizations to include Orthopedic Clinic of Neenah, Appleton Medical Center, nursing homes in Appleton, Neenah and Weyauwega as a director of nursing, as a corporate traveling nurse consultant for Health Group Care Centers, Chadds Ford, PA and at Winnebago Mental Health Institute, Oshkosh.

He served on the Building and Grounds Committee at St. Bernard Church, Appleton, for many years, and also was a Park & Rec commissioner for Fox Crossing for 15 years where he enjoyed his role of helping to develop and improve the parks within the village.

The love of the outdoors and the Wisconsin woodlands was reflected in Steve's long time pursuit of deer hunting and fishing with family and friends and his ownership of a cabin and 40 acres of woods near Park Falls until health issues interfered. As a diehard Chicago Cubs baseball fan, he taught his sons the love of the game and of the Cubs. He was an avid train buff and enjoyed traveling by train as well as visiting most of the states and Canada with his kids and wife. He gained a lot of pleasure working around the yard and garden at his home where he lived for 50+ years.

Steve is survived by his wife, Cindy; his sons: Dean, Fox Crossing, and Will (Emily), Toledo OH; his grandchildren: Brennan, Fox Crossing, and Kennedy and Everett, Toledo, OH. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mick and Diane Lotto, Jim and Nancy Pierce, Larry and Diane Studley, Rick and Lou Kidd, Bernie and Janet Lotto and Denis Lotto; and his brother, Scott (Peggy) Otto.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother, Terry Ziereis and a niece, Sarah Lotto.

The Funeral Mass for Steve will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Parish, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, WI 54914. The Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of the Mass at the church. Interment will take place at St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Memory of Steve.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of St. Paul Hospice Services of Kaukauna for their loving care given to Steve and support for his family.
