Alice Lynn Baer, age 80, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Care Partners in Neenah, Wisconsin.

On February 4, 1945, Alice was born in Milwaukee to Lars and Margaret (Schneider) Sutherland and was the youngest of four children. Alice lived a life of love and was a mother to four boys and took pride of the men they became and the families they raised.

Alice enjoyed hosting family get-togethers and holiday dinners where the family enjoyed her cooking especially her cheese cauliflower and her french onion soups. She was a wonderful baker as well, and her homemade pies were a beloved tradition. During and after dinner she enjoyed the witty conversations and loved to share stories of her time on Okauchee Lake and the mischievous shenanigans she did with her older brother Butch.

Alice worked and retired from Brigg's and Straton in Milwaukee, WI. During her 30 years at Brigg's she met her current husband of 38 years, Jim Baer or as Alice preferred Air-Baer. Their romance was a whirlwind as they would sneak off on dates and dance in their headlights on the highway. One of Alice's shared wisdoms was "work makes happiness," that must be because she found happiness with Jim. She also found joy in her beloved husky, Lolly – a nickname fondly given to Alice in her childhood.

Over the years Alice had many hobbies from cooking, reading, puzzle books, and gardening. She especially enjoyed camping and snowmobiling with her boys and her husband Jim in the Lakewood area. Lakewood would ultimately be where Alice and Jim called home for over 20 years after retirement.

Alice will be missed by her loving husband, James "Jim" Baer; her children: Mike (Alyssa) Bresnyan, Mark (significant other, Jeri Hidde) Bresnyan, and Tim (Lisa) Bresnyan; a step-son, Jason (Jenny) Baer; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers: Robert (Linda) Sutherland and Dale (Marilyn) Sutherland; her sisters-in-law: Joann (Michael) Beauchamp and Pamela (Herman) Sirianni; and many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Chris Bresnyan; her grandson, Shaun Bresnyan; and her sister, Cecelia Thacker

A Celebration of Life will be planned.

The family would like to thank the staff at Care Partners as well as the staff with Bristol Hospice. Their loving care and kindness given to Alice was greatly appreciated.

I have many wonderful memories of my Aunt, mostly from childhood. The family gatherings were always a great time and Aunt Lolly was a wonderful host and a loving Aunt. Our deepest condolences to Michael, Mark, Tim and their families! May the Lord bless you as you mourn!
