Steven Christopher Storer, age 69, of Cedar Creek, TX, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025 at Hospice Austin's Christopher House following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 19, 1956 in Troy, Ohio to Stan & Nancy Storer. Steve was a devoted husband to Deanna Storer for 45 years & was a very proud dad to their daughters, Michelle & Christie.
Steve's parents moved from Ohio to East Texas when he was very young. They moved to Woodsboro, TX where Steve attended school from the 5th grade until his senior year of High School. That's where he & Deanna first met. Steve participated in many school sports where he excelled, especially in football, basketball & baseball.
Steve's dad was a science teacher & his mom worked in the school's Principal's office, so he always said he couldn't get away with any foolishness at school since they were there & would quickly find out about it.
Steve's parents moved one more time to Edinburg, TX in 1973 where he finished High School. He went to Pan American University for a short time but soon decided to start his career in construction as an electrician. Steve then moved to
Austin, TX in 1977 where he continued working as an electrician & heating/air conditioning technician until his retirement. His work buddies called him "Mac Gyver" because he could fix just about anything with almost nothing.
He & Deanna reconnected thru a mutual school friend in 1979 which is when they started their married life together. In Steve's spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, hunting & tinkering outside on various projects. He spent his last few years quietly watching sports & old westerns on TV, especially John Wayne movies.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Stan & Nancy Storer & his brother Doug.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna, his daughters Michelle Cunningham (Pat} & Christie Storer (Tino), his granddaughters Meagan & Emily Cunningham, great-grandson Kayden Dotson & sister-in-law Marilyn Lambert.
Steve will be missed terribly by his family, but we know he's at peace now & is no longer suffering.
Our family greatly appreciates the wonderful care Steve received from his pulmonary & heart doctors during the past several years along with the incredibly kind care from his Hospice Austin in-home care team plus the extremely compassionate, respectful care he & our family received at Christopher House during his last week of life.
Our family will have a private interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to:
