Steven Toy Obituary

Visit the Grady Funeral Home - Williamsport website to view the full obituary.

Steven Eugean Toy passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. He was 60 years old.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Leanne; his son Michael (Hailey); his daughter Stephanie Toy; and his sisters Mandy (Jesse) Bryant and Kathy [Last Name]. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Phyllis Toy.

A hardworking and devoted man, Steve held many roles throughout his life, but his heart always belonged to the open road. He began driving semis at just 14, hauling grain for farming operations. Over the years, he worked with several companies and eventually found a second home at Steven’s Farm, where the camaraderie and friendships meant the world to him.

Steve also spent two decades as a journeyman insulator with Local #18 in Indianapolis, working both locally and on projects in Kentucky and Canada.

Music was one of Steve’s greatest passions. He loved singing karaoke—especially at family Christmas gatherings and online—and he had a genuine talent for it. The musical memories he shared with Michael were cherished and unforgettable.

As a father, Steve was deeply involved in his children’s lives. He supported them through 12 years of 4-H, always lending a hand (even if fence-building wasn’t his favorite task). He was also a proud “drama dad,” helping with theater sets, bringing McDonald’s to rehearsals, and showing up whenever needed.

In a beautiful act of love, Steve became a minister through Life Church so he could officiate Michael and Hailey’s wedding. One of his most treasured memories was walking Hailey down the aisle.

Steve’s pride in his children was evident in every conversation. He was endlessly proud of the adults they’ve become. His marriage to Leanne was a testament to enduring love—filled with both challenges and deep connection. They were true soulmates.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Attica American Legion Post 122 W Mill St, Attica, IN 47918.

In lieu of floral arrangements, the family kindly requests guests bring a potted perennial to contribute to a memorial garden being created in Steve’s honor at the family home.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
