Steven Walker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home of Willis on Apr. 17, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Steven Wayne Walker (March 7, 1976 – April 14, 2025)
Steven Wayne Walker, age 49, of Willis, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2025, surrounded by love from his family.
Born on March 7, 1976, in Conroe, Texas, to George "Doug" and Louetta Walker, Steven grew up in Willis,
where he built lifelong friendships and cherished memories through his involvement in Boy Scouts, band,
football, and basketball. Steven achieved the prestigious Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts and later earned his
Eagle Scout rank before the age of 16, demonstrating exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to the Scout Oath.
A proud graduate of Willis High School (Class of 1994), Steven pursued his passion for engineering at Texas A&M University (Class of 1998). He earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering and began a distinguished career as a Deep-Water Petroleum Engineer at Baker Hughes (formerly BJ Services), where he was part of a team that developed a patented fracking fluid still in use today. He later worked as an Applications Engineer at Weatherford in Huntsville, Texas, bringing expertise to his profession.
Above all, Steven loved his daughters, Morgan Michaela Walker (Bryant), born October 7, 1998, and Aven Nola Walker, born September 2, 2010. His family was his pride and joy. Steven shared his love for life through activities such as taking his daughters and nieces to the movies, sketching, watching sports, and restoring his cherished 1976 Z28 Camaro, which he enjoyed showcasing at local antique car shows.
Steven leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his surviving family: his children, Morgan Michaela Bryant and her husband Christian, and Aven Nola Walker; his mother, Louetta Walker; his siblings, George "Doug" Walker II and wife Kelena, and Brenda Wendt and husband Daniel; nieces and nephews, Rian Wendt Calda and husband Travis, Cammi Walker, Corben Wendt, and Damon Walker; along with many extended family members and dear friends. He is reunited in Heaven with his grandparents, James and JoAnn Walker, and Jack and Wellborn Carter; his father, George "Doug" Walker; and his brother, George Douglas Walker Jr.
Steven's Celebration of Life Service will take place at Grace Crossing Church on April 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a fellowship luncheon. Robert Wayne Walden

April 22, 2025

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Steven Walker. I was his Youth Pastor during my time at Eastside Assembly of Gd Church in Conroe, Texas in the mid 1980´s. He was a very smart and sweet young man. He ask me to do the opening prayer for his Eagle Scout award ceremony. It was a very special opportunity for me to take part in that wonderful and special day in his life.
He will be warmly remembered in my heart for being a special young Christian man who loved the Lord Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Rest in Peace Brother Steven Walker, my friend with much love and memories! Rev. Robert W. Walden
