Steven Robert (Bob) Warren, age 63, of Yukon, OK passed away early Thursday morning, March 13, 2025, at his home in Yukon, with his loving family at his side.
Bob was born on March 7, 1962, in Tampa, Florida to Robert E. and Mary Linda (Hingson) Warren. With his father serving in the United States Air Force, the family traveled to many assignments in Alaska, California, Georgia, Michigan, Florida and the Philippines. He later met the love of his life, Laura Janette Nucci, in May of 1985, while serving in the United States Air Force while assigned to Pope AFB in North Carolina, where he was a crew chief on the C130 aircraft. On January 4th, 1986, they were united in marriage at Thomas Street Church of Christ, in Altus, Oklahoma. They established their first home in Fayetteville, NC and later moved to Florida for two years after his honorable discharge from the USAF. In June of 1989, they moved to Altus, where Bob was a flight simulator technician supervisor on several different aircraft, while working contract at Altus Air Force Base. In 2012, they moved back to Fayetteville, NC where Bob provided maintance on the Blackhawk Helicopter simulators. Bob was so very talented and could fly just about any simulator he worked on. Bob worked in simulator and aircraft maintance for many years in several locations until his health forced his retirement in January 2020, when they moved to Yukon.
Bob's greatest love was his wife and family but he also loved to spend his spare time fishing and hunting as well as coaching his kids in several different sports. He also loved playing the guitar and cherished his time as a grandaddy. He was the biggest handy man around and there wasn't much Bob couldn't fix. He always enjoyed helping and supporting others.
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a very young age but wanted to recommit his life to Christ and was baptized again in 1988 at the Church of Christ in St Petersburg, Florida. His faith remained strong as God was always the center of his life.
Bob is survived by his wife Laurie of the home; two sons Ryan Warren, Bethany, OK and Jake Warren, Lubbock TX; one daughter, Laurel Warren Perkins and one sweet little granddaughter, Rylah Lauren Perkins, both of Yukon, OK. His mother; one brother, Lonny Warren and wife Marie; two sisters Gina Warren and Dana Ahern all of Homosassa, FL. Laurie's family, Anita Marshall of Altus, OK; Louis Nucci Jr. and wife Elizabeth Nucci of Charlotte, NC; Will and Viza Haley of Madill, OK; Robert and Tammy Nucci of Midwest City, OK., along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, Virgil E. and Lena Warren and Helen Alvarez and Marvin Hingson; his father and mother-in-law; Louis Sr. and Anna Laura (Hayes) Nucci and one brother-in-law Rick Marshall.
The family wishes a special thank you to Graceful Living Home in Edmond, Humanity Hospice and many loving caregivers that helped with Bobs journey.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Alzheimer's Association research in memory of Bob.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday afternoon, March 18, from noon until service time at 2 p.m., at Buchanan Funeral Chapel at 8712 N. Council Road, in Oklahoma City. Interment will be on Wednesday, March 19, at 10 a.m., at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma with military honors.
