STONY RAY EAGLE

Overbrook - Stony Ray Eagle, 51, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on October 23, 1974, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Johnny and Orlana (Snell) Eagle.

Stony had lived all of his life around the Carbondale and Overbrook communities. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1993 where he played football, he was an All-State Class 4A lineman and All League linebacker and lineman as well as named Kaw Valley League MVP. Stony also was selected to play in the Metro Dream Classic.

Stony worked for Goodyear in Topeka as a Tire Builder and retired after 30 years. He was a member of the USW. He coached girls' softball for several years.

On October 25, 1997, Stony was united in marriage to Carrie Gleason in Overbrook. To this union two daughters were born, Ellie and Abbie.

Stony is survived by his wife Carrie of 28 years; his two daughters, Ellie Eagle of Overbrook and Abbie Eagle of Overbrook; his mother, Orlana Hurner of Carbondale; his father, Johnny Eagle of Silver Lake; his sister, Dusty Rolla of Carbondale; step-sister Jessica Cain of Topeka; his granddaughter, Katalina Hernandez; in-laws Mary and Bryan Gleason of Carbondale; 3 sister in-laws and 2 brother in-laws; five nephews, six nieces, many other friends and relatives. Stony loved football and was an avid, Miami Dolphins fan.

Memorial services for Stony will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 18 at the Overbrook United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services.
