Stuart Lawrence Austin, age 88, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Stuart was welcomed into this world on June 18, 1935 in Mulliken, Michigan.
He eventually made his way to Mesa, Arizona where he finished High School.
Stuart married the love of his life, Marilyn Austin(Brosig), on July 31,1954. They were together for 61 years when Marilyn died in 2016.
Stuart had a passion for raising and showing pigeons becoming a pigeon genetic enthusiast, known across the country and even around the world. Following his service in the Army, Stuart had a 35-year career as a manager of the Computer Aid Design department for Motorola. He and Marilyn raised their children, Cynthia and Lance, in Scottsdale, AZ.
Stuart was very active his whole life, both as a coach and an athlete. He was Lance's little league coach for many years and also participated in bowling and softball leagues with his co-workers. Stuart had widespread knowledge on many sports, sharing this with whomever he knew.
Stuart is survived by his children, Cynthia Shembab and Lance Austin (Michele), as well as his three grandchildren Rochelle Shembab, Jake Austin, and Shelbee Austin. The family plans to hold a Celebration of Life later this year. He will be greatly missed.
