After a long life of selfless love for and commitment to humanity, military veterans especially, and many personal and professional accomplishments, Stuart "Buddy" Felton, 95, died peacefully just after midnight on March 5, 2017. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Rosalie Felton, his beloved son Paul Felton who passed away in September 2016, and his brother Lawrence Felton. He is survived by his loving daughter Marsha B. Felton and nephew Harold Felton. Stuart was just 19 when he volunteered to serve his country on Dec. 7, 1941 – the day the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. A few months later, he was deployed to the southwest Pacific with the 13th U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a navigator on B-17s for dozens of missions. He received numerous medals. In 1943, he and his crew were decorated with two presidential-unit citations. One of his honorable sayings: "We just did our job. We didn't question why." His history is included in two books: Words of War, compiled by the Park Tudor Legacy Initiative, and WWII - Duty, Honor, Country. Stuart's military service, videos, audios and photos, are on the Library of Congress - Veterans History Project website: http://memory.loc.gov/diglib/vhp/story/loc.natlib.afc2001001.23689/ Stuart continued to present his story to many civic and school organizations around the area as a service, and to remind his audiences of the price paid for freedom by the greatest generation. His career included marketing and administration consultant to Associations and Private Enterprises; Public Relations; Instructor on tax strategies; Licensed Life and Health Insurance Broker; Founder, Researched Programs and Capital Formation Consultants. Memorial Service was held Sunday, March 12 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis: Visitation held prior to the 'Celebration of Life' tribute at 11 a.m. Military Honors were performed to close the service. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to make a donation, please consider giving in Stuart's memory to a reputable charity benefitting our veterans. His soul and spirit sought to make the world a better place. Stuart will always be in our hearts.

My wife and I worked for Stu in 1990. He was a great man. We have cherished our memories of working for him. My two oldest sons remember him fondly as well, he taught us all so much.

I knew Stuart through Rosie, having worked with Rosie for 15 years. I spent many hours in Stuart and Rosie's home when I was living in Indianapolis. I knew Stuart to be a man of great integrity who truly loved his country. He was an extremely intelligent man who seemed very wise about life. I am sad to hear of his recent passing, but am hoping he and his dear Rosie are together in peace.
