STUART SILVERMAN Obituary

SILVERMAN, Stuart Bernard, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Edward Silverman; and sister, Frances Bender. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcia Brown Silverman; his adoring children, Ellen Norris (Wright), Joanne Silverman, Sharon Silverman (Tina Richards), Steve Silverman, Linda Bott (Michael); nine loving grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Norris, Emma Silverman, Sydney Silverman, Dillon, Ethan and Brandon Richards, Evan and Alex Bott; sisters-in-law, Cissy Girshman, Sheila Hecht, Elaine Brown, and his many dear nieces and nephews. He graduated from Hopewell High School and attended Randolph Macon College, and the University of Virginia. He was a member of Temple Beth-El, the JCC Men's Club, and a volunteer at the Virginia Holocaust Museum. He ran his family business, "Globe Shoes" in Hopewell for many years. He also partnered with his brothers-in-law in several businesses in his life. He finished his career with Haynes Furniture proudly, after 25 years of service. His interests revolved around his wife, Marcia, his children and grandchildren, who he loved dearly. His many friends gave him much joy. Heartfelt thanks for Dr. Eric Cote, Dr. Martin Starkman, and Dr. David Stein for their expert care and friendship. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Bliley's Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. followed by interment at Beth-El Cemetery at Forest Lawn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, The Kidney Foundation, Temple Beth-El or the Virginia Holocaust Museum.
