Sue "Susie" Busker, age 84, passed away on December 22, 2024 at Manor Court, Freeport IL. She was born on November 9, 1940 in Freeport, IL to Robert and Oleta (Reed) Strohacker. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1958. Sue married Fred Busker on August 6, 1940 in Freeport, IL but they separated later in life. For many years, Sue was a hair stylist and had her own business out of her home. She then worked in the physical therapy field and helped many patients. Sue was also a good friend to many and would provide support and comfort, when needed. Sue enjoyed reading and passed this love of books on to her family, as there were many hours spent at the Freeport Library. Camping was another enjoyment for Sue, and much of the country was seen by car. Some of her favorite places were by the Mississippi River and Lake Superior. Sue was a member of PEO Chapter LI.
Sue is survived by her children, Brad (Vicki) Busker, Pecatonica, IL and Mindy (David) Borgmann, Dakota, IL. Grandchildren, Ashley (Justin Fargher) Busker, Courtney (Will) Beavan, Josh Busker, Taylor (Miguel) Paguntalan, and Jordyn (Jake Wickman) Borgmann. And three great-grandchildren, Asher Beavan, and Theo and Oliver Paguntalan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandy Gerber Johnson.
The family would like to thank FHN Hospice, and the staff at Liberty Village – Manor Court. Special thanks to her dear friends, Harry Carlisle and Karen Vehmeier, for their constant care and support.
Cremation rights have been accorded, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
