Sue Ann Craig, age 91, of O Fallon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1933 in Kingston, Missouri, the youngest daughter of Lynn Bethel and Coleen (Gudgell) Bethel. Sue grew up in Kingston and Hamilton, Missouri and Graduated from Penney High School in 1951.
Sue is survived by 2 daughters, Bobbie Woodson (Woody) and Jeri Fleschert (Russ). Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Craig.
Sue had various jobs throughout her life, but was mostly a homemaker. She liked sewing clothes for her daughters when they were young, but truly loved doing cross-stitch quilt tops and has completed a variety quilts for her family.
Sue was one of the first volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri - St. Louis, assisting with the granting of numerous wishes. Following her husband's passing, she remained devoted to volunteering with the Moolah Shrine, with a special focus on supporting the circus.
Later in life, she never let her age hold her back. She loved her “swim girls” doing water aerobics two times a week, going to casinos and her favorite restaurant, El Mezon. She was always ready for a road trip, having just returned from Las Vegas, a week prior to her death. She was truly blessed with friends of all ages and the love and friendship of her bonus daughter, Debbie Schmucker.
She is survived by 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2025, with an open mic. Please bring stories to share, Sue would love to hear the laughter.
Interment will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sue’s name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
