Sue Timmons Hill, 70, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the home. She was the daughter of the late James Clifford Timmons Sr. (JC) and Ruby Moore Timmons of Una.
She was married to her soul mate and best friend, the late Jerry W. Hill Sr for 33 years.
Sue worked for many years as an administrator in the billing office at Spartanburg Regional before retiring. She enjoyed being a stay at home mother and grandma for many years. She was raised in the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Una First Baptist Church. She loved spending time outside in the yard with family and her late furry companion, Baby Girl.
She is survived by two children, her son, Jerry W. Hill Jr. (wife Beth) of Boiling Springs, SC; her daughter, Amanda Hill Barker of Spartanburg, SC. Four beautiful grandkids, Justin Patrick Hill of Spartanburg, SC, Jerry W. (Jaret) Hill III of USMC Quantico, VA, James C. Hill of Inman, SC and Sarah Masyn Hill of Boiling Springs, SC; her sister, Sara Ann Sawyer of Inman, SC and special niece, Jennifer Sawyer Earle and her children, Brianna and Braden. Brothers Wayne and Gene Timmons along with several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her beloved husband; her parents; her sweet granddaughter, Lauryn Louise Hill; her brothers, David Timmons and James Timmons Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, January 6, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-12:45 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel.
The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm in the chapel, followed by burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash.
Pallbearers will be Ray Moore Jr, Robbie Moore, Justin Hill, Kevin Stanley, Len Longe and Brandon Bell.
In memory of Sue T. Hill and in honor of Justin P. Hill, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Farris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605.
