Osage City - Surrounded by her family, Sue Ellen Jacoby, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at her home in Osage City, Kansas. She was born on July 13, 1954, near Scranton, Kansas, the only daughter of Raymond and Beulah (Montgomery) Remington.

Sue grew up on the family farm with her three older brothers, where she learned the value of hard work, strength, and grit. She attended grade school in Carbondale and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1972. Afterward, she completed her studies at Clark's Business School and began her career working at First National Bank and later for Attorney Frank Sabatini.

On August 25, 1979, Sue was united in marriage to David Alan Jacoby in Lyndon, KS. Sue lived in Los Angeles with David until his graduation from optometry school, before returning home to Kansas where they built a life in Osage City that spanned 46 beautiful years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osage City and a friend to many in her community.

Sue was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. For over four decades, she kept her husband's optometry practice running.

She wore many hats-receptionist, bookkeeper, technician, optician-and still made sure David stayed on task. She also oversaw the accounting and operations for another family business for 42 years. Whatever the need, Sue found a way to handle it. She could do it all!

Sue enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, but most of all she loved being with her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, no matter the occasion. Her laugh, jokes, hugs, and loving personality will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Beulah. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, David; her children, Brianna Ford and husband Travis of Lawrence, and John Jacoby and wife Kolbie of Overland Park; her beloved grandchildren, Ivy and Grace Ford, and Collins and Sutton Jacoby; her brothers, Lee Remington, Lonnie (Coleen) Remington, and Fred (Nora) Remington; and her sisters-in-law Joyce Cobb and Anita Jacoby, all of Topeka; nieces and nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services for Sue will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 20, at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30pm on Friday at the funeral chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osage City Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Sue may be made to the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Avenue, Lyndon, KS 66451.
