Sue Lynn "SuLin" Johnson, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born on September 3, 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lola Belle (Reddick) and Clayton Paul Johnson, both of whom preceded her in death.
SuLin's journey through life was not always easy. She faced her share of struggles and detours along the way, but she also carried a vibrant spirit that drew people to her. She had a deep love for music and enjoyed concerts and singing. She also cherished time spent near the water, especially at the lake, where she felt most at peace. She bravely battled cancer multiple times over the years, and though it ultimately claimed her life, it never defeated her spirit. Through it all, she remained resilient, finding joy in the little things and sharing that light with those around her.
In recent years, SuLin rededicated her life to the Lord and was baptized again, finding peace and comfort in her renewed faith. She was secure in her salvation and leaned on that faith through life's many turns.
She is survived by her daughter, Marisa Browder, and son-in-law, Lance Browder, along with two beloved grandchildren, Christian Keen Browder and Boston Baines Browder. Though life took them down different paths, SuLin's family remained an important part of her story and was her greatest joy. SuLin was endlessly proud of them and took comfort and happiness in their presence.
Also left to cherish her memory are her brother, Joe Paul Johnson, and wife, Marilyn Johnson, along with their sons-Jeffrey, David, Clayton, and Cameron-extended family, and many dear friends.
Those who knew SuLin will remember her as someone who had a vibrant spirit and a unique sense of humor. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and welcome. Her life serves as a reminder that every person's story is complex, and that even through hardship, there is room for grace, redemption, and hope.
May she rest in peace, comforted by the love she gave, the faith she reclaimed, and the legacy she leaves behind.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at The Gordon Center, 305 N. 2nd Ave., Durant, Oklahoma.
