Sue S. Kirchhoff, 88, of Jupiter, FL passed away peacefully on June 11, 2024. Born Virginia Sue Slayton on April 14, 1936, in Chillicothe, MO to William P. Slayton and Helen L. Anderson Slayton.
Sue's life took a wonderful turn when she met the love of her life, Glenn Kirchhoff. Their story began at the University of Missouri school of Journalism, where Sue was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and a Harvest Queen. It was at the Tri-Delt house that Glenn, visiting to pick up one of her sorority sisters, was captivated by Sue and decided to take her out instead.
Sue and Glenn's story blossomed into a beautiful marriage that lasted over 40 years. Together, they were blessed with three children: Bill, Anne, and Jennifer. Their family was a source of joy and pride for Sue, and her love for them was immeasurable.
During her early career, Sue made a name for herself as an advertising copywriter at both Wanamaker's in Philadelphia, PA and at Jordan Marsh in Miami, FL. While raising their family, Sue dedicated many years as a realtor in Coral Springs, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, active in the Lutheran church, and a fundraiser for the Coral Springs Philharmonic Society.
She retired to Apex, NC in 2009 and in April 2022, she moved back to Florida to enjoy more sunshine and spend time with her daughter, Anne.
Her family and many friends will significantly miss Sue. Her husband, Glenn, preceded her passing in 1998. She is survived by her son Bill (Cyndi) Kirchhoff, daughters Anne Kirchhoff and Jennifer (Vance) Josey. Grandchildren include Brandon Santiago, Bryce Santiago and Joseph Kirchhoff.
A celebration of life will be held in Coral Springs, FL on July 28 at Christ Church from 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic, and Ranch in Jupiter, FL.
