Sue Meyer, age 54, of Manitowoc passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Milwaukee. Her addiction to alcohol took her beautiful life. She fought a long and very hard battle.
Sue was born November 15, 1970 in Manitowoc, daughter of Sally (Olm) Meyer and the late Gene Meyer. She was a graduate of Valders High School with the Class of 1989. Sue went on to college and earned a Bachelor Degree from U.W. Green Bay and was hired shortly after she graduated as a Development Disabilities case manager for the Marinette County Health and Human Services Long Term unit. She was known to be very compassionate, caring and respectful. Sue worked there until 2015. At that time she pursued other options and in 2016 she joined Pine River Dairy as a part of the family business being able to work with her cousins Shari, Laurie, and Pam. She loved her family and her co-workers, they all meant a great deal to her.
When she wasn't working, Sue was out looking for anything to photograph. She loved taking pictures of old abandoned barns and in 2003 her photos were put on display at Stephenson's public library in Menomonie. Sue also loved any kind of animal and would have taken in every stray that she came across.
Survivors include her mother: Sally Meyer; loving daughter: Elizabeth Banaszak; her former husband: Scott Banaszak; her faithful cat: K.P.; and many cousins on both sides of her family. Preceding her in death was her father Gene Meyer, maternal grandparents Roland & Agnes Olm, paternal grandparents Clarence & Ovila Meyer and many aunts and uncles on both sides of the family.
Per her wishes cremation will take place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com
The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Christianson and Deja location, is assisting the Meyer family with arrangements.
Sue wrote a eulogy for her uncle Rollie when he passed and this is one of the quotes "The angel Clarence's message to George Baily from "It's a Wonderful Life" it reads – Dear George remember no man is a failure who has friends".
Our Sue was very successful.
