Eileen (Sue) Szablewski
December 23, 1934 – July 13, 2025
Sue, also affectionately known as "Wizzy," passed away July 13, 2025 at the age of 90. Long time resident of New Berlin, Wisconsin and Marquette, Iowa. Loving mother of Sue (Jerry) Matzelle, Kathy Markley, Paul (Diane) Szablewski, Holly Szablewski and Wendy Helland. Sue is also survived by her long-time and loving partner Larry Breuer, sisters Iva Corbitt and Tally (Jim) Schuppel, brother John (Toni) Harrison, seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, special friends Richard and Charlene Palucci and her six kitties. Sue was predeceased by her daughter Mary Kay Holguin, parents Eileen and John Harrison, husband Gilbert Szablewski, granddaughter Jodi Fox and brother David (Rose) Harrison.
After Sue's husband Gil passed away in 1995, she left a career as a paralegal in Milwaukee to courageously pursue her lifelong dream of owning a bakery. Sue fell in love with the Mississippi River town of Marquette, Iowa after passing through when visiting her sister, Iva. Along the way, she met Larry Breuer, and in 1997 he helped make her dream come true when together they designed, and Larry built, the Wildflour Bakery & Confectionery.
Sue's love, wittiness, wisdom, sense of humor, strength and courage will be missed dearly by all who knew her and she will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation to be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Celebration of Life begins at 3:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life will also be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the City of Marquette Community Room, 102 North Street, Marquette, Iowa.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rivers and Bluffs Animal Shelter, 460 Cliffwood Dr., Prairie du Chien, WI 53821.
