Sue Ann "Matson" Thomas

SUE ANN (MATSON) THOMAS, age 89, of Chillicothe, passed from her physical life on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Grant Medical Center following a brief illness. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones.

Sue was born on May 24, 1936 in New Holland, Ohio, to the late Hershel and Doris (Willis) Matson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald L. Thomas; and her children, Kevin Waulk, Dale (Terre) Waulk, Brian (Jody) Waulk, and Rhonda Sue Thomas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Justin Waulk, Hope Waulk and her fiancé, Eli Hoover, Scott (Kelly) Sowards, Drew Mccown, Gabe Mccown, six great-grandchildren, and siblings, Betty Draise, and John (Melinda) Matson.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings; Ella Jean Wood, Bill Matson, Hope Michael, Skip Matson, Joy Bennett, Patty Matson, Bob Matson, and her infant brother, James Matson.

Sue was a kind, loving, funny, smart, and beautiful person. She was everything anyone could ever have wanted in a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She loved her family deeply and cherished her friends, and she was always there for anyone who ever needed her. Sue will forever live in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home, 223 W. Market St., Washington CH, OH 43160. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
