Suellen Riggs Obituary

Suellen Riggs, 85, St. Marys, WV, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center. Born in St. Marys, WV, on May 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude Dye Riggs. Due to family circumstances, she was raised by Anna Mary and Norman Mitchell. She was 1958 graduate of St. Marys High School and was a member of Waverly Church of Christ. Suellen was a Teacher's Aide for St. Marys Elementary School for over 25 years. Her husband and her family were her life. The staff at the Heritage was like family.
She is survived by four children, Steve (Gladys) Riggs, Liz (Chad) Bleakley, Jill (Gary) Flanagan, and Dave (Samantha) Riggs; eight grandchildren, Jessie Burchard, Tyler (Mollie) Bleakley, Gant Bleakley, Jordan (Jared) Davis, Malee (Danny) Palmateer, Logan (Brittainy) Flanagan, Luke Flanagan, and Landrey Riggs; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Jack Riggs; one sister, Judy Crawford; and two nephews, John (Lynn) Ballard, and Brad Ballard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence Gale Riggs, Jr.; and one brother, Jim Riggs.
Funeral services will be on 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV with Bob Long officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Memorial Estates. Friends may call from 12 to 2 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
