Sulema Leyva 84 of Pecos,Tx, Passed away on January 26,2026 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa,Tx.
Sulema Leyva was born in Pecos,Texas to Manuel & Francisca Martinez on April 4,1941. She married Enrique L. Leyva on August 28,1961 in Pecos,Texas. She attended Pecos High School. Sulema worked as a Supervisor for The Pecos Garment Levi Factory for many years. Later to become a loving housewife and mother. Sulema was very dedicated in the Catholic Church as a member of the church choir, Eucharist minister and a Guadalupana. Sulema also had a love for drawing, singing, baking and dancing.
Sulema is preceded in death by her husband Enrique Leyva. Sisters Maria Garcia, Epifania Mora, Fita Martinez and Senida Garcia and Her brother Jose Martinez.
Sulema is survived by her sisters, Angelita Carrasco, Margarita Estorga. Brother Jesus Martinez. Daughter Melissa (Mike) Garcia of Odessa,Tx. Daughter Dr.Nimat Alam of Odessa,Tx. Son Kevin Leyva of Odessa,Tx. Son Henry (Francis) Leyva of Piedmont, AL. Granddaughter Mary Francis (Joshua) Nabarrette of Odessa,Tx. Grandson Mark Leyva of Piedmont,AL. Grandson Sinjin (Danielle) Leyva of Albuquerque,Nm. Great-Granddaughter Olivia Rose Nabarrette. Great-Grandson Joshua Nabarrette Jr and numerous Nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sinjin Leyva, Joshua Nabarrette, Arturo Orona, Michael Estorga, Randel Vaughn and Patrick Kennedy.
Visitation for Sulema will be held on Thursday January 29, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home
Mass will be celebrated for Sulema on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos at 10:00am
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
