Sun Kim Keng, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on November 8, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on April 8, 1947, in Cambodia, where she spent her early years enduring significant hardship. Sun's resilience shone brightly even in the face of tragedy, as she lost many family members, yet became the cornerstone of support for those around her.

In 1981, Sun made the courageous journey from Cambodia to Columbus, OH, as a refugee. This monumental transition in her life symbolized her strength and determination to seek a better future for herself and her family. Her spirit remained unbroken, and her loving nature became evident in all that she did.

Sun was not one to speak much, but her actions spoke volumes. She found joy in cooking for everyone, sharing her culinary talents, and fostering a sense of community and warmth. Through her simple yet profound acts of love, she created a familial bond that extended beyond her immediate family.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Nara Keng, and their sons, Doeun and Neang. Sun is also survived by her daughters, Vichea and Sokha. Her legacy continues through her siblings, brothers Seng, Leang, and Soksen Ke, along with her sisters, Tim, Lay, and Sokun Ke, who cherished her deeply.

Sun Kim Keng’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, resilience, and dedication. She will be remembered fondly for her nurturing spirit and the indelible mark she left on everyone she encountered.

Her family and friends will gather to honor her memory at a funeral service on November 16, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio, starting at 1:00 PM .  The services will conclude with witnessing the cremation at Newcomer Funeral Home in Powell, Ohio.

As they come together, they will celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who, despite her struggles, radiated love and provided strength to all who knew her.
