Susan Louise (Notestone) Atkinson, 83, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025. She was born May 1, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to Homer and Anna Notestone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Keith Notestone; nephew, Chuck Cutter; and beloved daughter, Connie McAlister. Sue is survived by husband of 68 years, Donald Atkinson; brother, Homer Notestone; daughters, Linda Atkinson, Jody (Steve) Smith, Patti (Jarrod) Whitlatch, and Amanda (Matt) Atkinson; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sweet dog, Princess Lilly; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Sue loved the Lord. She accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1976 while attending Memorial Baptist Church. She taught the Cubbies class at church, taught crafts during Vacation Bible School, and she became Mrs. A, the candy lady, to the kids. She loved her church and her family.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1pm until 3pm with a service immediately following, officiated by Pastor Owen Stotts at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. There will be no burial service.
Sue loved Christmas. In lieu of flowers, you can bring a Christmas ornament that can by hung on the tree that will be at the funeral home. Donations can be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 2435 Eakin Rd., Columbus, OH 43204 or Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Rd., Grove City, OH 43123.
