Susan Diane Batson, 64, of Brenham, Texas, passed away on June 20, 2025. She was born on June 15, 1961, in Houston, Texas, to Lawrence and Vera Zingelmann.
Before moving from Houston, Susan enjoyed spending time with her cousins and playing card games with her parents, aunts, and uncles during family gatherings. She was a big help to her mother, often driving them on trips to Louisiana. After starting her own family, she became known as an excellent cook who enjoyed hosting gatherings and making sure there was always plenty of food and entertainment for everyone. She also loved having her grandchildren visit and traveling with Wayne to spend time with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Wayne Batson; her parents, Lawrence and Vera Zingelmann; and her niece, Melissa Caldera.
Susan is survived by her children: Stefanie Osborne (Dave), Jeremy Batson (Ashley), Eric Batson, and Kelly Batson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Caleb, Caylee, Ryan, Avery, Noah, Addison, and Charlie; her brother, Larry Zingelmann (Cindy); her sister, Leana Zingelmann (Jimmy); her nephew, Trey Zingelmann; and her niece, Jordan Johnson.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main Street, Brenham, Texas. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Tim Webb. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Batson, Eric Batson, Trey Zingelmann, Dave Osborne, Paul Behrs, Shane Berkelbach, and Terrence Johnson.
