Susan Beckwith of Emmet NE passed away April 22nd 2025. She is survived by her sons Roddie Beckwith of Emmet, Jase (Sarah) Beckwith of Laurel, and her siblings Pam (Dale) Pelster, Bob (Roxy) Kraft, and Lori (Darrin) Boelter. countless nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and grocery store regulars who would all describe her as being like a sister and mom to them. She loved her family and all the people in her life deeply.
Born August 10 of 1955 to John and Vonda Kraft of Neligh, Susan was the oldest of seven siblings. She grew up a proud and adventurous big sister and cousin who loved and would do anything for every one of her relatives, something that never changed as she aged.
In 1975, she married Rodney (Rod) Beckwith. Together, they raised their two sons. While she adored her boys, Susan absolutely lived for her grandchildren and great grandchild: Allison, Juden, Hazel, Walden, and Kessler.
Susan famously adored Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed figure skating, taking care of her plants, and cooking shows. A skilled cook herself, Suzie kept a welcoming home to match her comforting personality. These skills helped her in two of her favorite jobs: a paraprofessional at ESU 8 where she assisted some of her favorite people in the world, and SuperFoods in O'Neill where she found a group of caring friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rod; her parents, John and Vonda Kraft; her brothers LJ and Chuck Kraft; her sister Joan Kraft; her nephews Jeff and Brady Kraft; and her niece Julia Schaaf.
In honor of Susan, tell people you love them, hug someone tight. That's all she would have wanted.
