Susan Sturgeon Blank

Susan Sturgeon Blank, "Duda", beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 3rd at the age of 85.

Born on December 2, 1939, Susan was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Blank. Together they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, raising a family and building a life filled with love, faith and community.

Duda is survived by her devoted husband Bob and their three daughters: Julia Casadei, Jennifer Bohler, and Molly Chapman. She was the cherished grandmother of Meghan Pope, Michael Merriman, Jeffery McNelis, Zachary and Kate Chapman, and the adoring great-grandmother of Stevie Lynn Pope and Connor Daniel Pope. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Clayton and Mary Biggs. Duda was preceded in life by her beloved son Jeffrey Jackson Blank.

A founding member of the Rolling Stony's and a lifelong sports enthusiast, she devoured life and all it had to offer. She was always the first on and the last off the dance floor. Duda cherished time with her ever-growing family and welcomed everyone to the Family Table. Everyone she met became a treasured friend because that's how she saw the world. If you came into her life, you never left it. She was also deeply involved in her community, giving generously of her time and heart to those around her.

Duda will be remembered for her bigger than life personality. Her warmth, her strength and her unwavering love for her family. She was the rock. Always there with words of encouragement and quick with that hearty laugh.

Her Final Final will be her legacy that lives on in the countless lives she touched.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 7, 11AM at Kirk in the Hills, 1340 W. Long Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills 48302. A luncheon will follow at The Village Club, 190 E. Long Lake Rd., Bloomfield Hills.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
