Susan Bowerson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial - Bower Rose Funeral Home - Marine City on Nov. 29, 2023.
Susan Kay Bowerson, age 61, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023, at Lake Huron Medical Center in Port Huron. Born on June 27, 1962, in St. Clair, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of Robert and Donna (Beauvais) Bowerson and a beloved sister and aunt. Susan's laughter and creativity left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will be treasured forever.
Susan was the fourth of six children and grew up surrounded by the love and support of her family. She is survived by her devoted mother, Donna; her siblings, Daniel (Maura), Ruth Bowerson, Terri Deaver (Dwayne), and David (Sherry); along with 14 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and her youngest brother, Rob, with whom she now joyfully reunites.
Throughout her life, Susan's friendly nature and infectious laugh brightened the lives of everyone around her. She was a beacon of joy and a testament to the power of positivity. Susan's spirit and determination shone brightly as an avid participant in the Special Olympics. Her prowess in cross-country skiing earned her numerous medals, and her athletic achievements were a source of great pride and inspiration.
Susan's creative talents were expressed through her love of working with beads. She crafted beautiful necklaces for the special people she met, spreading joy and beauty with each piece she created. Her hobbies also included assembling jigsaw puzzles and immersing herself in the simple pleasures of reading her favorite children's books. Susan's inquisitive nature led her to constantly explore the world of words, diligently looking up their meanings in the dictionary and compiling lists of new vocabulary to share with others.
Despite being developmentally challenged, Susan's bright mind and warm heart never ceased to amaze those around her. She navigated life's challenges with grace and an unwavering sense of humor. The words that best describe Susan are funny, creative, and friendly. Her ability to connect with people and make them laugh was truly a gift.
Susan's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the relentless pursuit of happiness. Her presence in our lives was a blessing, and while we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable woman she was. Susan's laughter will echo in our memories, and her spirit will continue to guide us.
As we bid farewell to Susan Kay Bowerson, we find comfort in the thought of her soaring with the angels in Heaven. We imagine her joy at being reunited with her father, Robert, and her brother, Rob, and we take solace in knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly above us.
Susan will be profoundly missed by many, but the impact she made on this world will endure. Her story is one of triumph, love, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. May she rest in peace, and may her journey onward be filled with the same joy and love she shared so generously during her time with us.
Soar with the angels in Heaven, Sue! Enjoy being with Dad and Rob again. Your laughter and love will forever be a part of us.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial-Bower Rose Funeral Home. A celebration of Susan's life will be held in the spring.

Dear Sue, it´s hard to believe your birthday is quickly approaching again. I know you are very happy to have Dad, Rob and Mom with you again. I think of you often and have such good memories, I just wish I had the chance to spend more time with you especially when you were competing with Special Olympics. Continue to Rest in Peace sweet sister. I love you and miss you. Happy Heavenly Birthday!

Dear Sue, this is a difficult time of year for us but we try to remember the good times we shared with you. You brought so much joy and sometimes frustration (at least for me when my patience was lacking) but I do miss you. You could bring a smile or a chuckle when I needed it most. I love you sweet sister and miss you

Susan came to live in the facility that i worked at, and we instantly clicked. Susan was a kind and loving soul, and loved making beaded necklaces for us girls at sanborn. I will never forget the time when it was easter time, and I had one of my good friends come in dressed as the easter bunny, and take a picture with susan!
you will forever be in our hearts susan!
with love from the girls from Sanborn

So sorry to hear of Susan's passing. She was definitely a bright light in this world. I enjoyed visiting with her on many occasions during her residency at Mercy Village. She would bring me pictures, beads and make snowmen outside of my office window. My condolences, she will be missed.
